Transport Specialist

Job Purpose

The Transport Planner role will involve daily planning and optimization of delivery routes, as well as coordinating with different internal and external groups such as Control Tower, Platforms, Customer Service and Vendor Partners to ensure efficient and on-time delivery. The role will dictate the orders that are for picking and loading and should ensure also that the trucks are fully-optimized.

1. Transport Planning

1.1. Transport Planner will be the first recipient of orders together with Wave Planner.

1.2. Create and finalize the truck plan by determining the customer fixed delivery schedule, area, load classification and ensuring that target no. of drops and requested delivery date are considered.

1.3. Work simultaneously with Wave Planner to ensure that the plan is aligned with picking capacity and dispatching guidelines.

2. Transport Operations

2.1. Book the truck requirement to Control Tower for consolidation.

2.2. Monitor the truck's arrival based on call-time.

2.3. Ensure trucks are dispatched from the source warehouse on time.

2.4. Ensure that track and trace system are tagged prior dispatch.

2.5. Ensure accuracy and completion of track and trace system status update after the delivery.

3. Administrative Functions

3.1. Observes company rules and regulations, procedures and guidelines at all times.

3.2. Observes proper housekeeping and good warehousing practices to comply with GSDP.

3.3. Performs other duties that will be assigned by the Transport Supervisor

Qualification and Education Requirements

• College Level

Relevant Experiences

• Work experience related to transport operations and route planning. Well knowledgeable in Philippine geography and truck road restrictions and limitations (truck ban, number coding etc). With previous experience in truck and route planning role.

Technical Competencies

• Route and Load planning
• Good negotiation skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
• Cold Storage / Controlled –Temperature Operations
• Experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with different teams and create documentation.
• Proficient in using MS Office
