Job Purpose
Responsible for the efficient planning, booking, and management of transportation logistics, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery of goods while coordinating with suppliers and maintaining accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan optimal delivery routes to ensure timely and cost-efficient deliveries to client locations.
- Book vehicles with suppliers for scheduled deliveries, ensuring availability and suitability of transport units.
- Compute and report transport costs, providing regular updates to management to ensure budget adherence.
- File and manage transport insurance documentation to ensure compliance with insurance policies.
- Collaborate with the Dispatcher and Logistics Staff to coordinate vehicle availability, delivery schedules, and vehicle condition.
- Ensure compliance with cold chain transport requirements for temperature-sensitive goods, especially for distant locations.
- Monitor and update management on transport-related issues,
- Update third-party Transport Management System to reflect actual status of deliveries, collection, and POD.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor, including acting as a reliever for the Dispatcher or Logistics Staff during absences.
