Job Summary
The Training Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing learning and training programs that enhance employee performance and support operational excellence across The Bistro Group's restaurant brands. This role ensures that training initiatives align with company standards, business objectives, and service excellence while fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training strategies, programs, and learning initiatives for restaurant operations and support office employees.
- Design and update training materials, manuals, SOPs, and learning modules.
- Conduct training needs analysis and identify competency gaps across departments.
- Facilitate classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions.
- Partner with Operations, HR, and Brand Leaders to ensure consistent implementation of company standards.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.
- Manage onboarding and orientation programs for newly hired employees.
- Coach and mentor Training Officers and other trainers to ensure training quality and consistency.
- Develop leadership and management development programs for supervisors and managers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, occupational health and safety regulations, and other mandatory training requirements.
- Maintain training records, reports, certifications, and learning documentation.
- Recommend process improvements and innovative learning solutions to support business growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Education, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in Training, Learning & Development, or Restaurant Operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in the restaurant, hospitality, retail, or food service industry is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design, facilitation, and adult learning principles.
- Excellent presentation, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and learning management systems (LMS) is an advantage.
- Willing to travel to restaurant branches as needed.
