Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven individual to join our Marsh Specialty Team as Trade Credit & Political Risk Practice Leader for our PH business. This role will be based in Manila, Philippines. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
This role will lead the Trade Credit & Political Risk specialty practice for the Philippines, driving business growth, strengthening market position, and delivering strategic client solutions. You will work closely with local, regional, and global teams to support clients across trade credit, political risk, and surety needs.

This role will lead the Trade Credit & Political Risk specialty practice for the Philippines, driving business growth, strengthening market position, and delivering strategic client solutions. You will work closely with local, regional, and global teams to support clients across trade credit, political risk, and surety needs.
We will count on you to:
- Lead the Trade Credit & Political Risk specialty practice, developing and executing business strategies to drive profitable growth and strengthen Marsh's market position.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients by providing strategic advice on Trade Credit, Political Risk, and Surety insurance solutions aligned with their risk management objectives.
- Lead new business development initiatives while identifying cross-selling opportunities across Marsh's Specialty and Commercial businesses.
- Design, structure and negotiate complex Trade Credit insurance placements by working closely with local, regional and international broking teams and insurer partners.
- Collaborate with regional specialty colleagues and global Centres of Excellence to deliver innovative client solutions and share market intelligence.
- Provide strategic guidance during renewal negotiations, placement execution, and policy implementation to ensure high-quality client outcomes.
- Support clients throughout the claims process by coordinating with insurers and internal stakeholders to facilitate efficient claims resolution.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurers to improve market access, placement capacity and product innovation.
- Monitor market developments, insurer appetite, industry trends and regulatory changes relevant to Trade Credit insurance.
- Prepare business plans, pipeline reports, financial forecasts and management updates for local and regional leadership.
- Mentor and develop junior colleagues while promoting technical excellence, collaboration and a high-performance culture.
- Ensure compliance with Marsh operational standards, governance requirements and regulatory obligations.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Risk Management or a related field.
- Significant experience in Trade Credit, Political Risk, Financial Lines or Commercial Insurance within an insurance broker, insurer or financial institution.
- Strong understanding of Trade Credit insurance products, policy structures and placement strategies.
- Demonstrated experience managing insurer relationships and negotiating complex insurance placements.
- Proven ability to build strong client relationships and deliver strategic risk advisory solutions.
- Excellent commercial acumen with experience driving business growth and developing new client opportunities.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence presenting to senior executives and clients.
- Experience working with multinational clients and regional insurance programmes.
- Familiarity with trade finance, banking products, structured credit or political risk solutions.
- Experience managing teams or leading a specialty practice.
