Tooling Design Engineer

About the role

The Engineer, Tooling Design role at Molex is a full-time, on-site position based in Mabalacat, Pampanga. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and improving tooling and molds used in manufacturing processes, particularly for injection molding operations. Day-to-day activities include creating and updating CAD models and drawings, collaborating with manufacturing and mechanical engineering teams, and ensuring designs meet quality, cost, and safety requirements. The engineer will participate in tooling trials, troubleshoot tooling-related issues, and implement design modifications to optimize production efficiency and product performance. The role also involves maintaining documentation, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Tooling Design, with experience in designing molds, jigs, fixtures, and related tooling components.
• Background in Manufacturing Engineering and Injection Molding, including knowledge of production processes, materials, and tooling validation.
• Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering principles, such as stress analysis, tolerancing, and mechanical systems.
• Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar) for 2D and 3D design.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, and apply GD&T and industry standards.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing or electronics/automotive industry is an advantage.
