Test Manager (Offshore | Australian Business Hours)

CloudMarc | Quality Engineering Consultancy

CloudMarc is an Australian-based Quality Engineering consultancy specialising in testing, automation, and quality uplift across complex enterprise environments. We support major organisations through strong governance, delivery oversight, and practical quality leadership.

We are seeking a highly experienced Test Manager to support our largest client accounts. This is a senior offshore role working remotely in close partnership with CloudMarc Account Managers and our QE Capability Lead. The focus is service delivery oversight, governance, and quality control across large multi-team engagements.

This role suits someone who is technically and operationally strong across the full testing lifecycle, confident in challenging when required, and capable of identifying risks before they become issues.

Role Purpose

Provide expert oversight of testing quality and governance across large client environments, ensuring CloudMarc delivery meets the highest professional standards. Act as an independent and authoritative quality presence, identifying risks early, driving improvements, and supporting both client and CloudMarc capability uplift.

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery Oversight

  • Monitor testing delivery quality across large client engagements (50+ consultants).
  • Review and assess testing practices to ensure alignment with client standards, governance frameworks, and best practice.
  • Identify delivery risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities early and escalate appropriately.
  • Provide practical recommendations, mitigations, and corrective actions.

Test Governance & Quality Assurance

  • Review key testing artefacts including Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Summary Reports, and other governance deliverables.
  • Ensure appropriate test coverage across all phases and test types.
  • Validate that non-functional requirements are understood, planned for, and addressed.
  • Confirm correct application of testing approaches across waterfall, agile, and hybrid delivery models.

Technical & Process Leadership

  • Provide guidance on where, when, and why different testing activities are required.
  • Ensure on-site QA Managers and Team Leads perform appropriate planning and integration of performance, security, integration, and other specialised testing.
  • Assess impacts of delivery decisions on quality, risk, and release confidence.
  • Recommend process improvements to strengthen quality outcomes.

Independent Quality Authority

  • Act with professional objectivity and strong judgement.
  • Challenge practices or decisions that create risk or reduce quality.
  • Operate with an auditor mindset focused on evidence, standards, and outcomes.

Client & Account Support

  • Identify opportunities to improve client testing capability and efficiency.
  • Highlight opportunities for CloudMarc to support client uplift initiatives.
  • Perform activities that contribute to supporting CloudMarc where requested, outside the scope of client work.
  • Support recruitment activities including interviewing and assessing technical capability of new consultants.

Reporting & Quality Insight

  • Contribute to client-facing test reporting and dashboards aligned to governance expectations.
  • Use available tools and data to provide clear visibility of quality, risk, and delivery health.
  • Support data-driven decision making through meaningful analysis and insight.
  • Provide structured updates and quality observations to CloudMarc leadership as required.

Required Experience & Capability

  • Extensive experience as a Test Manager in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge across the full testing lifecycle, methodologies, and governance frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of test phases, test types, and how they integrate into delivery.
  • Strong working knowledge of non-functional requirements and performance testing concepts, including risks of inadequate coverage.
  • Experience operating across both agile and waterfall delivery models.
  • Proven experience reviewing and assuring quality of testing artefacts and delivery outputs.
  • Strong risk identification and mitigation capability.
  • Excellent judgement and confidence to challenge constructively.
  • Experience working with distributed teams and large-scale delivery environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
