Under general direction of the Head of TPA and Affinity Systems the Test Analyst is an integral role that will be working with in house applications and communicating to a wide range of users. The Test Analyst will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing test cases while maintaining regular updates on their progress to make sure that projects complete in the expected time frames.

Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed manual testing of bespoke in house applications using industry standard techniques.
  • Assists in execution and maintenance of automated tests.
  • Documents software faults and liaise with developers until the software is ready for release.
  • Arranges User Acceptance Testing, as requested.
  • Enhances and updates the library of test scripts and user documentation for all applications.
  • Ensures that systems meet the agreed acceptance criteria.
  • Liaises with the Crawford (first-line) Service Desk to help them understand the application and coordinate a seamless customer support offering, particularly around software releases.
  • Undertakes e-mail and telephone-based third-line support of bespoke in-house applications when required. The role does not require direct support of standard off the shelf applications like Word or Excel.
  • Regularly reports key user software issues to the UK TPA Systems team to assist in improving all products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any related course.
  • At least two (2) years of proven experience as an IT tester.
  • Essential:
    • ISEB Foundation.
    • Proven ability to understand and support in house systems and adapt to rapidly changing software.
    • Logical thought process for troubleshooting support issues.
    • Methodical and analytical approach to testing.
  • Beneficial:
    • Experience of testing products developed with BPM tools e.g. Appian.
    • Experience with executing and maintaining automated tests.
    • Ability to write simple SQL database queries.
    • Knowledge of insurance/loss adjusting or general customer claims handling.
    • Experience of remote desktop control tools for diagnosing problems.
    • Experience of testing in both an agile and traditional V-model development environments.
  • Proven attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact in a business professional manner with people at all levels.
  • Be a genuine flexible team player.
  • A natural curiosity into how applications work.
  • Punctual, reliable, and self-motivates.
