The Head of Technology Services (Division Head) at the Bank of the Philippine Islands is responsible for leading technology support and project execution for ULCG businesses. The role ensures strategic alignment across divisions, oversees business-initiated technology projects, and manages business-as-usual (BAU) support. Acting as the primary liaison between business units and IT, the Division Head drives timely delivery of initiatives, system availability, and resolution of production incidents, while contributing to organizational goals through effective planning, prioritization, and execution of technology strategies.
- Responsibilities: Assess business line plans to identify technology interdependencies and prevent conflicting priorities
- Oversee project management activities from study phase to onboarding and delivery, ensuring prioritization and integration of initiatives
- Monitor systems supporting ULCG businesses to ensure availability and rapid resolution of production incidents
- Contribute to ULCG business targets through new business initiatives, technology project implementation, and system monitoring
- Direct the division's efforts toward ULC goals and objectives
- Define and approve division budgets and expenses
- Enable organizational structural changes within the division
- Serve as the main liaison between ULCG units and IT, coordinating with internal stakeholders (e.g., ULCG Management Committee, Compliance, Risk Management) and external partners (e.g., technology vendors, fintech leaders)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, IT, or related field
- Master's degree in business or related field preferred
- 10+ years of experience in the financial and payments services industry
- Significant background in planning and business development
- Strong understanding of payments business lines, markets, and clients
- Analytical, financial, and decision-making skills with attention to detail
- Experience in evaluating and negotiating complex transactions for sustainable growth
- Proficiency in business analysis, budgeting, and financial management
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to present to executive-level management and external partners
- Knowledge of internal systems supporting ULCG businesses and evolving technologies impacting payments
