Position Overview:
This role is for an experienced Technology Business Analyst with 5-10 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, focusing on regulatory and risk-related technology platforms, specifically Expected Credit Losses (ECL), Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), and Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB). The Senior BA will act as the key liaison between Finance/Risk stakeholders and the technology delivery teams, driving the implementation and enhancement of critical risk and finance systems.
The role also needs to manage and work with external technology consultants, as well as service providers in ensuring that the IT business applications are operating efficiently and robustly.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Elicitation and Analysis
- Lead complex requirements gathering sessions with Finance, Risk, Treasury, and Regulatory Reporting stakeholders, translating high-level business needs into detailed, unambiguous functional and non-functional specifications (e.g., BRDs, FRDs, User Stories).
- Deeply analyze and document requirements related to the calculation, reporting, and systems for:
- Expected Credit Losses (ECL) / IFRS 9: Focus on data sourcing, staging, model inputs, segmentation, calculation methodologies (PD, LGD, EAD), and reporting outputs.
- Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP): Analyze and specify requirements for curve generation, tenor-based FTP allocation, behavioral modeling, and system integration with balance sheet management platforms.
- Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB): Define requirements for sensitivity analysis (e.g., Economic Value of Equity - EVE, Net Interest Income - NII), Non-Maturity Deposits (NMD) modeling, and internal/regulatory reporting.
- Perform gap analysis between current state processes/systems and target state requirements, proposing optimal and compliant technology solutions.
2. Solution Design and Delivery
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and Development teams to design scalable, high-performance technology solutions that meet regulatory and business objectives.
- Translate business logic into detailed data mappings and interface specifications, ensuring data quality and integrity for risk calculations.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the functional domain throughout the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including Agile/Scrum ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, backlog grooming).
- Support the development team by clarifying requirements, resolving functional queries, and reviewing technical design documents.
3. Testing, Quality Assurance, and Implementation
- Develop detailed test strategies and review test cases to ensure comprehensive coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.
- Lead and coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), managing defect resolution and sign-offs from business stakeholders.
- Own the creation of implementation plans, production readiness documentation, and end-user training materials.
4. Stakeholder Management and Governance
- Proactively manage and communicate with a diverse group of senior-level stakeholders (Risk Managers, Treasury, Business Finance, IT Leadership) to ensure alignment on project scope, timelines, and risks.
- Provide regular project updates, status reports, and presentations, clearly articulating the business value and project health.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical/Domain Expertise (3-7 Years)
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technology Consultant, or similar role in the Financial Services industry (Banking or Capital Markets).
- Expert-level knowledge of at least two of the following core banking/risk domains:
- Expected Credit Losses (ECL) and IFRS 9/CECL principles.
- Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) methodologies and balance sheet management.
- Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB) and related regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel).
- Strong SQL proficiency for data analysis, querying large datasets, and validating results from risk/finance systems.
- Proven experience working with risk and finance technology platforms (e.g., specialized calculation engines, data warehouses, regulatory reporting tools).

Education
- University Degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Experiences / knowledge in the following will be advantageous:
- Familiarity with Cloud computing Technology, AWS, Microsoft Azure and Fabric
