. Specify, install, and commission IoT sensors (temperature, humidity, door/open, fuel, vibration/shock, geo-fence triggers) and validate live data on the tracking platform.

. Support technicians on difficult diagnostics: intermittent power, poor GNSS lock, SIM/APN faults, CAN mapping, sensor false alarms, and platform configuration errors.

. Stay current with device firmware, installer apps, OEM fitment guides, and emerging telematics / cargo-security technologies.

Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance

. Plan and coordinate device fitment on trucks, trailers, prime movers, light commercial vehicles, and selected fixed or mobile assets.

. Proven field experience with GPS/GNSS vehicle tracking systems (hardware, wiring, antennas, SIM/APN, platform configuration).

. Hands-on experience with speed-limiting devices (installation, calibration, sealing, verification, and compliance documentation).

. Practical experience with electronic locking / e-seal systems and IoT sensors used for cargo and vehicle security or condition monitoring.

. Ability to read wiring diagrams, pinouts, technical manuals, and fitment guides.

. Strong electrical / automotive diagnostic skills (12V/24V systems, fusing, grounding, CAN/OBD familiarity).

. Prior experience coaching or informally leading technicians ready to take formal supervisory accountability.

. Clear written and verbal communication with customers and internal teams.

. Valid driving licence willingness to work on customer sites, workshops, and yards, including occasional after-hours or regional travel.

Preferred

. Diploma or equivalent in electrical engineering, automotive technology, mechatronics, or a related trade, plus substantial field tenure.

. Experience across mixed fleets (prime movers, trailers, rigid trucks, LCV) and high-security cargo applications.

. Familiarity with multi-network / multi-modal tracking (cellular, Wi-Fi, satellite) and control-tower or fleet platforms.

. Knowledge of relevant transport, speed-limiter, or cargo-security standards and customer audit expectations.

. Vendor or OEM installer certifications for major tracking, SLD, or e-lock brands.

Competencies

. Technical depth first - can still complete a complex fit or diagnosis personally when required.

. Calm, structured problem-solving under time pressure and live-fleet constraints.

. Attention to detail: serial control, photos, calibration records, and clean looms.

. Safety ownership for self, team, and customer assets.

. Coaching mindset: raises the standard of the whole team rather than only the strongest individuals.

. Proactive attitude - takes on wider responsibility, new device types, and process improvement.

Working Conditions

Workshop, customer depot, and roadside / yard environments. Physical work including vehicle access, cable routing, and device mounting. May require regional travel, standby, or extended hours to meet fleet downtime windows and SLA commitments.

Candidates should demonstrate a proactive attitude, willingness to take increased responsibility, and commitment to improving work quality, safety, and team capability.
