About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Support Engineer II (Junior Linux Engineer) to join our Cloud Services team. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with foundational Linux administration experience who are eager to expand their technical expertise in cloud operations, production support, and system reliability.
In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers to monitor production environments, troubleshoot incidents, perform operational tasks, and contribute to maintaining highly available systems. This position offers hands-on experience with modern infrastructure technologies and a clear growth path toward a Linux/DevOps engineering career.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor system health, availability, and performance during assigned shifts.
- Identify incidents, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate issues according to established procedures.
- Document incidents, actions taken, and resolutions accurately.
- Assist in maintaining and improving monitoring platforms, dashboards, and alerting systems.
- Follow predefined runbooks and operational procedures to ensure consistent incident management.
- Support day-to-day production operations and system administration activities.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve technical issues and improve platform reliability.
Required Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of Linux administration, including:
- File systems
- User permissions
- Process management
- Basic networking concepts
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including:
- Running containers and pods
- Working with images
- Reviewing logs
- Basic troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of low-level computing concepts, memory layouts, registers, and assembly language fundamentals.
- Familiarity with SSH, command-line tools, and common Linux utilities.
- Ability to follow documented procedures and escalate issues appropriately.
- Comfortable working in a shift-based operational environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- English effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, GroundCover, or Datadog.
- Experience supporting cloud-based or production environments.
- Interest in Linux systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps practices.
