The Technical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the technical operation, maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance of assigned vessels. The role ensures that vessel machinery, equipment, and technical systems are maintained in optimal operating condition through effective preventive maintenance planning, technical support, budget management, and compliance with maritime regulations. The position also serves as the administrator and subject matter expert for the Preventive Maintenance System (PMS), ensuring its effective implementation across the fleet.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; Licensed Marine Engineer is an advantage
- Atleast 3 years experience as Chief Engineer (Non-negotiable)
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the maritime industry, preferably in vessel technical operations, maintenance management, ship management, or fleet operations
- At least two (2) years of hands-on experience with Preventive Maintenance Systems (PMS), including maintenance planning, scheduling, administration, and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of marine machinery, vessel maintenance, dry-docking activities, technical procurement, and maritime regulations, including Class and Flag State requirements
- Proven experience in maintenance planning, project management, budget preparation, and cost control
- Excellent troubleshooting, technical analysis, and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance management systems
- Physically fit and willing to travel and board vessels as required
- Able to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with both shipboard and shore-based personnel
