Role Description for Energy Data and Pricing Engineer:
The person will handle the pricing strategy of the Company, taking into account factors such as, but not limited to, generation supply cost, associated costs due to market exposures and other factors such as current and foreseen economic development, movement in international fuel prices and other relevant commodities, to be able to come up with a competitive offer to prospective Contestable Customers.
- Asses and interpret customer's electricity consumption/demand profile and generation supply offers.
- Rate making generate various financial models based on several factors such as, but not limited to, required revenue requirement of the BU, prevailing market prices of the customer class/industry, generation/source supply offers and load profile/demand of the customer, to be able to come up with competitive offers to Contestable Customers.
- Propose rates to the Management supported by financial models and other quantitative analysis undertaken.
- Work closely with the Energy Trading Team regarding market forecasts and other rate components to be included in the rate making analysis.
- Other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Role for Energy Trader:
- Develop expertise on retail energy supply agreements
- Develop expertise on retail energy generation and consumption
- Develop expertise on WESM, retail energy market and competitors
- Develop and presentation of WESM trading plan quarterly
- Prospecting and identification of retail energy customers
- Operations and execution of energy trading in compliance with retail energy supply agreements
- Develop and presentation of energy trading progress weekly
Qualifications:
- Graduate of Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or other related course
- Licensed Engineer is an advantage.
- Must have working experience of at least 2 years in energy data analysis, system optimization, or pricing simulation in the power industry.
- Advanced knowledge on MS Excel
- Knowledge in WESM energy market for forecasting, pricing simulations, and IEMOP data integration.
- Knowledge of Philippine energy systems, grid operations under the Philippine Grid Code, and statistical methods for data interpretation.
- Strong understanding of Philippine energy economics, WESM market dynamics, regulatory impacts on pricing under Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM), Green Energy Option Program (GEOP), and Retail Aggregation Program.
- Knowledge in WESM Energy Market, Ancillary Services, Reserve Market, Market Operation Compliance, Trading Strategy and Market Evaluation and Surveillance is an advantage.
- Good verbal and written communication skill, and interpersonal skills.
