Technical Resource / Solutions Engineer (Internal Automation)
Location: Remote, open for candidates from Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines
Type: Full-Time, 3–6-month contract
Working Hours: Australian business hours (9 AM –5 PM AEST/AEDT), Monday–Friday
About Us:
Automation Consulting Pty Ltd is a small, fast-growing Australian startup specializing in AI and automation consulting, helping businesses streamline operations with smart, scalable solutions.
About the Role:
What You'll Do:
• Work closely with our Marketing team to identify and automate manual workflows (e.g. content distribution, social media processes).
• Partner with the Sales team to help build and streamline pipeline-related processes, and occasionally join client conversations alongside Sales.
• Collaborate with HR/Operations to map out internal processes and turn them into automated workflows.
• Build proof-of-concepts (POCs) and internal tools across departments, iterating quickly based on real business needs.
• Act as a technical thought partner for non-technical teams — translating business problems into simple, working automation solutions.
• Continuously evaluate new AI and automation tools that can improve internal productivity and business operations.
What We're Looking For:
Three things matter most for this role:
• Business acumen — you understand how Sales, Marketing, and HR functions actually operate day-to-day.
• Communication — you can explain ideas clearly and confidently to non-technical teams and, occasionally, clients.
• Hands-on automation ability — comfortable using AI-assisted tools (or code) to go from a vague business ask to a working POC, without heavy hand-holding.
Beyond that, we're also looking for:
• 3–6 years of experience in a business/ops/growth-adjacent role, with a track record of building things independently.
• Naturally curious about improving how people work, and comfortable experimenting with new AI tools, APIs, and automation platforms.
• Experience with browser/workflow automation tools such as Playwright, or a willingness to learn quickly.
• Prior exposure to CRM/marketing tools (HubSpot, Zapier, Make, n8n, etc.) is a bonus.
• Fluent in English.
Nice to have:
• Background in QA Engineering — QA professionals often combine exactly this mix: solid communication, a good grasp of business process, and hands-on automation skills.
• Pre-sales or client-facing experience — a good signal of polish and confidence when representing solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright or similar browser automation tools.
• Experience thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic startup or agency environment.
• Basic scripting/no-code/low-code experience (Python, JS, Zapier/Make, Airtable, etc.)
Hiring Process:
What We Offer
• Competitive salary
• Flexible working hours for work-life balance
• Partnership mindset (work with us, not for us)
• Collaborative and nurturing environment
• Knowledge sharing and skill enhancement opportunities
• Respectful and inclusive team culture
• Long-term opportunity with ongoing projects and growth potential
We appreciate the time and effort you've put into your application. Due to the high volume of applications received, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted — but we're grateful for your interest!
