About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Product Owner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining product features, prioritizing product backlog, and ensuring that the development team understands the product vision and objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of the market, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

What you'll do

  • Analyze business needs and gather requirements from different departments and stakeholders and translate these technical and functional requirements into user stories with comprehensive acceptance criteria for all stakeholders and the Scrum Team.
  • Product Vision: Define and communicate the product vision and strategy in alignment with company goals.
  • Oversee the Scrum team and ceremonies as the Product Owner, leading projects while collaborating with the Product Team and stakeholders to ensure alignment with Penbrothers vision and goals.
  • Maintain feature prioritization to balance business objectives and technical feasibility, delivering maximum value.
  • Manage the product backlog and actively participate in Scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
  • Work closely with the development team to refine and approve user stories in the product backlog for implementation.
  • Collaborate with the development team to address impediments or blockers impacting the successful completion of Releases or Sprint Goals.
  • Serve as the department's point of contact for the company's digital portals, assisting with managing access requests for new hires and client users, monitoring and escalating bug tickets to the development team, and providing portal walkthroughs to new hires as relevant to their roles.
  • Utilize relevant technical and system design tools and AI tools such as JIRA, SQL, API, Miro, Draw.io, Gemini, NotebookLM and other relevant tools.
  • Create and maintain the product vision and backlog throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure inspection, transparency, and adaptation throughout Sprint Ceremonies, working closely with stakeholders and end-users to ensure value delivery.
  • Oversee the overall backlog, establishing a common understanding of its vision, criteria, ranking, value, and prioritization within the Scrum Team.
  • Collaborate frequently with the Scrum Team to eliminate or significantly reduce impediments.
  • Conduct complex assessments of stakeholder needs and preferences, structuring the system to provide the best solutions through gap analysis.
  • Act as a support system across the organization, ensuring adherence to technology protocols and eliminating impediments.

What you Bring

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role in product management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or any related field.
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Knowledge of UX/UI principles and best practices.
  • Experience with data analytics and A/B testing.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in product management tools like JIRA, Asana or similar
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong motivational skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar certification is an advantage.
  • Experience in HR Tech is an advantage.
