JOB DESCRIPTION: TECHNICAL MANAGER
Position Overview The Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing the technical operations of the laboratory, ensuring the highest standards of analytical precision, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. This role involves leading a high-performing team, driving research and development initiatives, and utilizing statistical tools to maintain the integrity of laboratory data.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day laboratory activities, optimizing workflows to ensure timely and accurate results.
- Quality & Compliance: Maintain laboratory standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025) and ensure all testing adheres to regulatory and safety protocols.
- Technical Oversight: Serve as the final technical authority for complex analytical troubleshooting and method validation.
- Research & Development: Lead R&D projects to develop new testing methods, improve existing protocols, and expand laboratory capabilities.
- Data Management: Apply advanced statistical methods to analyze laboratory data, monitor quality control trends, and determine measurement uncertainty.
- Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate laboratory staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and professional growth.
Job Requirements (Must-Haves)- Professional License: Must be a Licensed Chemist (Registered Chemist).
- Professional Experience: At least 5 years of experience in laboratory operations, with a strong background in analytical testing.
Preferred Qualifications (Advantages)- Industry Knowledge: Specialized knowledge or experience in water treatment processes and analysis is a significant advantage.
- Advanced Education: A Master's Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field is highly preferred.
- Leadership Experience: Proven track record in team leading and management, with the ability to manage personnel and laboratory resources effectively.
- Technical Expertise: Highly skilled in statistics and laboratory data analysis, including the use of statistical software or advanced Excel for data interpretation.
- R&D Background: Practical experience in Research and Development (R&D) and method development/validation.
