Technical Implementation Engineer (with SQL and C# .Net experience)

Team Background:

1.We are part of a product delivery team that implements and delivers customized/configured products based on client needs. This is primarily an application implementation role with around 40-50% SQL development like Stored procedures, views, SQL query optimization, application configuration, deployment, 20-30% .NET development, 10-20% SSO configuration, and 10-20% support. This is not a 100% .NET development role, though there are times when custom C# coding may be needed.

2.This team follows Kanban in Agile to manage work queues.

3.The role requires the developer to be an independent contributor coordinating and collaborating with internal and external client team stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.

4.The role requires wearing multiple hats at times as a developer and at times as a business analyst to analyze requirements, ask questions, raise concerns etc.

5.The role requires following certain processes and protocols during product implementations.

Responsibilities:

• This is an application implementation role with heavy SQL development like Stored procedures, views, SQL query optimization, application configuration, deployment and some .NET development.

• Deploy, configure and initialize client environments as part of the Technical Services team that delivers configured/customized solutions for clients

• Implement portal solution from base product, implement custom web modules, web services, and workflows using industry best practices

• Estimate effort for queued work items and evaluate technical feasibility for requests.

• Work with delivery teams to define requirements, manage expectations and assist with the analysis of issues

• Wear multiple hats at times as a developer and as an business analyst to analyze requirements, ask questions, raise concerns etc.

• Ensure requirements for changes and enhancements are properly defined and follow appropriate channels for testing and migrating to test and production environments

• Develop comprehensive test plans, scripts and cases, participate in code reviews

• Perform unit and comprehensive testing to ensure overall functionality and technical quality of deliverables

• Follow documentation, process and protocols during product implementations. Identify areas of improvement in documentation and help improve it

• Troubleshoot technical issues and problems and assist with client issue escalations from support

The Requirements:

• Critical thinking skills: Problem solver, motivation to begin and continue tasks without external instructions, drive to collect information and pinpoint issues, examine, scrutinize and draw conclusions

• 3+ years work experience in SQL Server 2008 and TSQL. This role involves heavy SQL Server and transactional SQL development and minimal C#/ASP.NET development

• 3+ years work experience developing and/or supporting web-based applications (.NET, ASP.NET, C# preferred).

• SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio, GIT, Team Foundation Server, IIS Configuration

• Client-side technologies: JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, HTML5/CSS3.

• Communication skills: The ability to articulate and able to communicate with people from different functional areas including internal and external stakeholders

• Familiarity with SaaS business model

• Nice to have: Windows Services, PowerShell, Familiarity of Content management systems, Azure/AWS Fundamentals, SingleSignOn
