Job Summary
The Technical Engineer monitors and reviews tenant fit-outs, renovations, and building improvements to ensure compliance with approved guidelines, technical standards, and operational policies. Responsible for maintaining accurate building plans and tenant records, providing technical support during inspections, preparing scopes of work, cost estimates, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
•Monitor and review tenant fit-out, renovation, and alteration works to ensure compliance with approved Building Fit-out Guidelines, house rules, and relevant technical standards.
•Maintain and update complete and accurate building plans and records, including Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEPF) drawings, monitor tenant fit-out profiles and space movements of existing tenants.
•Provide technical support and coordination during periodic inspections of building facilities and tenant-leased areas, in collaboration with the Safety Manager, ensuring technical compliance with approved plans and established building policies.
•Prepare and provide technical inputs such as the Scope of Work, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and preliminary cost estimates for proposed projects, repairs, and improvement works, for management review and decision making.
•Assist in the preparation of project bid documents and technical specifications, and support the project bidding process in coordination with the QCTM, Engineering team, and other concerned PMO units.
•Coordinate the solicitation and evaluation of technical proposals from vendors and contractors, ensuring completeness, technical compliance, and timely submission for review by the QCTM.
•Coordinate closely with the Engineering team on purchase requests, work schedules, and tenant-related technical concerns to ensure alignment with approved plans, timelines, and operational requirements.
•Schedule and coordinate repair and improvement work in common areas and tenant spaces, ensuring minimal disruption to building operations and tenant activities.
•Serve as an understudy to the Quality Control & Technical Manager by supporting monitoring, documentation, and coordination tasks related to quality control and technical compliance.
•Perform other technical and coordination duties as may be assigned by the QCTM in support of project execution, fit-out control, and building technical standards.
Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related technical field; licensed professional in the relevant discipline.
•Minimum of 3 years experience in building operations, fit-out review, or project coordination.
•Proficient in reading, reviewing, and maintaining Architectural and MEPF plans and technical drawings.
•Competent in preparing Scopes of Work, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and preliminary cost estimates.
•Skilled in CAD software (AutoCAD or equivalent) and MS Office applications; capable of preparing technical reports and summaries.
•Strong coordination and communication skills for working with engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and tenants.
•Detail-oriented, analytical, and methodical, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet timelines.
Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and ability to work effectively under supervision in a regulated building environment.
