VPLI is part of 80 year old US based consulting firm. The company brings generations of practical knowledge and technical expertise to the development of professional education and certificate programs.
We are developing online professional courses in acoustics, noise control, vibration control, applied physics, and related technical fields. A central objective is to convert decades of practical industry knowledge into clear, useful, and professionally presented learning material.
About the Role
We are seeking a technically strong, highly organized, and visually capable Technical Course Developer – Acoustics, associated fields & Engineering. The successful candidate will work closely with senior technical professionals to transform technical knowledge, existing reference materials, calculations, diagrams, and course outlines into accurate, clear, and engaging educational content.
This position is particularly suitable for a candidate with a background in Physics, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, or a related technical field who also has excellent skills in PowerPoint, Word, technical writing, and visual presentation.
Travel
Travel is an absolute necessity, in particular India.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing technical courses and certificate programs in acoustics and related subjects.
- Develop professional PowerPoint presentations from technical outlines, source material, and senior staff direction.
- Edit and improve technical text for clarity, accuracy, consistency, and educational use.
- Prepare course notes, examples, exercises, quizzes, assignments, and supporting materials.
- Convert technical concepts into clear diagrams, illustrations, tables, charts, and graphics.
- Format professional technical and educational documents using Microsoft Word.
- Prepare calculations, charts, tables, and supporting material using Microsoft Excel.
- Research technical topics using credible professional and academic sources.
- Assist in organizing courses into modules, lessons, learning objectives, and assessments.
- Use AI and other modern productivity tools appropriately to support research, drafting, editing, and course development.
- Coordinate directly with senior technical staff through development, review, and revision.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in physics, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, or a closely related engineering/science discipline.
- Good understanding of fundamental physics, particularly waves, frequency, energy, and measurement.
- Basic knowledge of acoustics, sound, noise, or vibration is strongly preferred.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to understand technical information and communicate it in clear, concise language.
- Strong attention to detail, document quality, and visual presentation.
- Ability to work independently and develop high-quality material from technical direction and source information.
Additional Skills We Value
- Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, or similar graphic-design tools.

The Candidate We Are Looking For
- We are looking for more than someone who can simply format documents. The ideal candidate can take a technical concept, rough notes, existing reference material, or an engineering explanation and turn it into a clear, technically accurate, professional, and visually engaging educational presentation.
- A strong Physics or Mechanical Engineering graduate with excellent communication, PowerPoint, and visual-presentation skills is encouraged to apply even without extensive professional acoustics experience.
