Job Description

Employment: Full-Time / Remote

Industry: HSE | Facility Management | CAFM | CMMS | EAM | Built Environment

Experience: 3–6 Years

Language: Exceptional written English

We are looking for a specialist Technical Content Writer with strong knowledge or experience in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and/or Facility Management (FM).

This is not a general marketing content role.

We need someone who can understand how HSE teams, facility managers, maintenance teams, asset managers and operations teams actually work — and turn those operational challenges into authoritative, useful and highly searchable content.

You will create content around topics such as:

HSE & Safety

  • HSE Management Systems
  • Incident & Accident Management
  • Near-Miss Reporting
  • Safety Inspections
  • Risk Assessments
  • Permit to Work
  • Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
  • Safety Audits
  • Contractor Safety
  • Toolbox Talks
  • Behaviour-Based Safety
  • Safety KPIs
  • Digital HSE
  • AI in Workplace Safety
  • HSE Compliance
  • Environmental Management

Facility & Asset Management

  • Facility Management
  • CAFM
  • CMMS
  • Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)
  • Preventive Maintenance
  • Predictive Maintenance
  • Reactive Maintenance
  • Work Order Management
  • Asset Lifecycle Management
  • Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM)
  • SLA & KPI Management
  • Contractor Management
  • Helpdesk Management
  • Building Operations
  • Energy Management
  • IoT in Facility Management
  • AI in Facility Management
  • Smart Buildings
  • Digital Transformation in FM

The objective is simple:

Build content that HSE and FM professionals genuinely want to read — while increasing organic search visibility, AI-search visibility, website traffic, inbound leads and brand authority.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality long-form and short-form content every week.

Content will include:

  • SEO-focused website articles
  • Technical blogs
  • HSE educational articles
  • Facility Management educational articles
  • LinkedIn articles and posts
  • Thought-leadership content
  • Industry guides
  • How-to articles
  • Checklists
  • Comparison articles
  • Software buying guides
  • Industry trend reports
  • Product educational content
  • Case-study narratives
  • Customer problem/solution stories
  • White papers
  • eBooks
  • FAQs
  • Glossaries
  • Landing-page content

You should be comfortable writing articles such as:

What Is a Permit-to-Work System and How Does It Work

CAFM vs CMMS vs EAM: What Is the Difference

15 Facility Management KPIs Every FM Team Should Track

How AI Is Changing HSE Management

Preventive vs Predictive Maintenance: Which Strategy Should You Use

How to Digitize HSE Inspections Without Creating More Work for Safety Teams

What Should a Modern CAFM System Include

10 Leading Alternatives to Traditional Facility Management Software

How IoT Sensors Can Reduce Facility Maintenance Costs

How to Calculate TRIR, LTIFR and Other Important HSE Metrics

Your job is not simply to write.

You will be expected to research, understand and own the content topic.

Before creating content, you should research:

  • What FM/HSE professionals are searching for
  • What questions customers are asking
  • Competitor content
  • Google search results
  • Keyword opportunities
  • Industry terminology
  • Regulations and standards where applicable
  • Industry reports
  • LinkedIn discussions
  • Forums and professional communities
  • Search intent
  • AI search results

You should then turn that research into content that is more useful, clearer and more authoritative than what is currently available online.

The writer must understand modern content creation beyond traditional SEO.

Content should be structured for visibility across:

  • Google
  • Bing
  • ChatGPT
  • Gemini
  • Perplexity
  • AI Overviews
  • Other AI-powered search engines

You should understand or be willing to learn:

  • Keyword research
  • Search intent
  • Topic clusters
  • Internal linking
  • Content briefs
  • SERP analysis
  • Featured snippets
  • FAQ structures
  • Entity-based SEO
  • GEO / Generative Engine Optimization
  • Content authority
  • E-E-A-T principles

Experience with Semrush or Ahrefs is highly preferred.

We actively encourage the use of AI.

You should be comfortable working with tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and other research/writing tools.

However:

We do not want AI-generated garbage.

AI should help you research faster, develop outlines, analyze competitors, identify questions and improve productivity.

The final content must demonstrate human understanding of the subject.

If an article sounds like 1,000 other generic AI-generated articles online, it has failed.

Our content should be:

Technical enough for an industry professional.

Simple enough for a business decision-maker.

We do not want unnecessarily complicated corporate language.

For example, instead of:

Organizations can leverage innovative technological paradigms to optimize their facility management ecosystem.

We would rather say:

Facility managers can use IoT sensors to identify equipment problems before they become expensive failures.

Clear. Useful. Specific.

Expected output will typically include:

  • 2–3 high-quality long-form articles per week
  • Supporting LinkedIn content from those articles
  • FAQs and supporting website content
  • Content updates/refreshes
  • Keyword and competitor research
  • Contribution to downloadable guides and white papers

Quality is more important than producing dozens of shallow articles.

One excellent article that ranks and generates qualified traffic is more valuable than ten generic articles.

You will regularly study content produced by companies operating across:

CAFM, CMMS, EAM, HSE software, workplace safety, IoT, smart buildings, energy management and enterprise software.

You should identify:

  • Their highest-performing content
  • Keywords they rank for
  • Content gaps
  • Backlink opportunities
  • Topics gaining traction
  • Questions customers are searching for
  • Opportunities where we can create significantly better content

The goal is not to copy competitors.

The goal is to understand why their content performs and beat it with better content.

  • Excellent written English
  • Strong research skills
  • Experience writing B2B content
  • Ability to understand technical subjects
  • Strong long-form writing ability
  • Experience writing SEO content
  • Ability to simplify complicated concepts
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong fact-checking habits
  • Experience using AI for research and productivity

We will prioritize candidates who have previously written about:

  • HSE
  • EHS
  • Workplace Safety
  • Facility Management
  • CAFM
  • CMMS
  • EAM
  • Maintenance Management
  • Asset Management
  • PropTech
  • Smart Buildings
  • IoT
  • Energy Management
  • Building Management Systems

Previous experience in the Facility Management or HSE industry is a major advantage.

Please do not apply if your experience is primarily:

  • Generic social-media writing
  • Lifestyle blogging
  • Entertainment content
  • Generic AI-generated articles
  • Copying and rewriting competitor blogs
  • High-volume low-quality SEO content

We are looking for someone who wants to become an authority in HSE and Facility Management content.

When applying, please send:

  1. Your CV / LinkedIn profile
  2. Three examples of your best long-form B2B or technical articles
  3. Any HSE, EHS, FM, CAFM, CMMS, EAM or SaaS content you have previously written
  4. SEO tools you have used
  5. AI tools you currently use
  6. Your expected monthly salary
  7. Your availability / notice period

Shortlisted candidates may be given a paid writing assignment.

The candidate will receive an HSE or Facility Management topic and will be asked to:

  • Research the topic
  • Identify the target keyword/search intent
  • Review competing content
  • Create an article structure
  • Write a technical article
  • Provide sources
  • Suggest FAQs
  • Suggest 3–5 LinkedIn content ideas derived from the article

We will evaluate candidates primarily on subject understanding, research quality, clarity, originality and writing ability — not just grammar.

Within 6–12 months, we want the person joining us to become someone who deeply understands the HSE and Facility Management industries.

You should eventually be able to look at an HSE or FM topic and immediately understand:

Who is searching for it, what problem they are trying to solve, what information is missing online, and how we can create the best piece of content on that subject.

If you love researching technical industries, understanding how businesses actually operate, and turning complicated subjects into content people genuinely want to read, we want to hear from you.
