Job Description

About the Programme

RedR UK (RedR) is seeking an experienced associates based in the Philippines to act as Country Lead for a six-month initiative focused on reducing the impacts of extreme heat on vulnerable urban populations. Building on existing global and national research on urban heat and climate resilience, the project will develop and test locally relevant approaches to increasing awareness of heat-related risks and promoting behaviours that can help vulnerable groups better protect themselves during extreme heat events. Rather than creating new delivery structures, the project will work through existing organisations, networks and trusted intermediaries that already reach vulnerable populations at scale. The associates will lead the contextualisation of evidence-based messaging for local audiences and identify opportunities to amplify its reach through existing partnerships and communication channels. Drawing on their existing networks and stakeholder engagement experience, they will work closely with government agencies, civil society organisations, research institutions and community actors to test approaches that will allow reach and scale, capture learning and identify opportunities for future scale-up. Working as part of the RedR team and closely with national partners, the associates will articulate practical actions for urban heat resilience information to be most effectively communicated and acted upon by vulnerable communities and those supporting them. We are particularly interested in candidates who combine expertise in climate resilience, urban resilience, public health, behaviour change and community engagement with strong existing networks and stakeholder relationships. Candidates should be comfortable operating across evidence synthesis, partnership development, learning and practical programme delivery. Experience in translating climate-related evidence into actionable insights for diverse audiences is critical.
