Job Description

The Business Technology Analyst (BTA) serves as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating complex business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements. This role supports initiatives across securities and trading platforms, with a strong emphasis on systems integration, data flows, and end to end process optimization.

The analyst will work closely with product owners, traders, operations, compliance, and engineering teams to ensure trading-related systems are scalable, compliant, and aligned with business objectives. Responsibilities include requirements elicitation, impact analysis, integration design support, and participation in testing and release activities across interconnected platforms.

This role requires a solid understanding of capital markets concepts (e.g., securities lifecycle, trade execution, clearing, and settlement) combined with hands-on experience working in technology-driven delivery environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for securities and trading initiatives
  • Partner with technology teams to define integration requirements across trading, middle-office, and downstream systems
  • Support system integration efforts, including data mapping, interface definitions, and dependency analysis
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate regulatory, risk, and operational needs into system requirements
  • Participate in solution design reviews to ensure alignment with business intent and technical feasibility
  • Support testing activities (SIT/UAT) by validating requirements, reviewing test cases, and resolving defects
  • Produce clear documentation such as business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specs, and process flows
  • Act as a subject matter liaison between business users and delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Technology Analyst in technology-driven projects
  • Strong domain knowledge in securities and trading, including trade lifecycle and related systems
  • Demonstrated experience working on systems integration initiatives (APIs, data feeds, upstream/downstream systems)
  • Experience collaborating with engineering, QA, and architecture teams in Agile or hybrid delivery models
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to decompose complex business problems into structured requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technical audiences

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience supporting front-office, middle-office, or back-office trading platforms
  • Familiarity with regulatory or compliance-driven change in capital markets environments
  • Exposure to data modeling, messaging frameworks, or event-driven architecture
  • Prior experience working in large-scale enterprise or financial services technology programs
