Job Description

General Overview of the Job:

The PTP Team Lead is accountable for managing the end-to-end accounts payable (AP) operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations. This role involves leading a team, establishing performance benchmarks, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and driving continuous process improvements aligned with financial and operational objectives. The Team Lead also plays a critical role in stakeholder communication, compliance oversight, reporting, and team development through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing. By upholding efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to policies, the PTP Team Lead contributes significantly to the organization's financial integrity and operational success.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the AP team in processing transport and SG&A invoices by establishing performance benchmarks, monitoring KPIs, driving process enhancements, and ensuring alignment with financial and operational objectives.
  • Guide the execution of vendor payments by setting clear process standards, tracking performance metrics, managing escalations, and promoting continuous improvement in payment operations.
  • Review and manage vendor reconciliations to ensure account accuracy, resolve complex discrepancies, maintain audit readiness, and enhance reconciliation practices.
  • Coordinate AP aging report activities by standardizing reporting practices, supporting team efficiency, addressing escalated issues, and driving initiatives to improve invoice aging and cash flow visibility.
  • Lead the PTP support function by defining response protocols, monitoring service levels, resolving escalations, and improving the quality and timeliness of inquiry handling.
  • Coordinate AP aging report activities by standardizing reporting practices, supporting team efficiency, addressing escalated issues, and driving initiatives to improve invoice aging and cash flow visibility.
  • Drive knowledge-sharing initiatives by formalizing training programs, coaching team members, and ensuring subject matter expertise is effectively transferred across the team.
  • Lead SLA and KPI reporting efforts by defining reporting standards, reviewing team metrics, and implementing strategies to meet or exceed service targets.
  • Oversee performance reporting for operational reviews by ensuring data accuracy, identifying trends, and delivering actionable insights to support leadership decisions.
  • Supervise daily PTP operations by balancing workloads, ensuring timely task completion, and maintaining high levels of team productivity.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to team members through regular check-ins, performance evaluations, and development planning.

Minimum Requirements or Qualifications:

  • Graduate of BS Accountancy/Financial Management or any finance/accounting related course
  • 3+ or more years of experience in an Accounts payable environment. More than 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, advanced Excel proficiency, effective communication, customer service, problem-solving abilities, leadership skills, and organizational skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with AS400, D365 systems, process improvement, data analytics, legal and compliance knowledge, and project management.
