Team Lead - Financial Reporting

We're looking for a Team Lead – Financial Reporting to lead a team of Financial Controllers and help deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality financial reporting services to our clients.

In this role, you'll combine financial reporting expertise, team leadership, client relationship management, and process improvement. You'll coach and develop team members, manage workloads and deliverables, resolve complex issues, and help build efficient reporting processes.

What You'll Do

Team Leadership & Management

• Lead and supervise a team of Financial Controllers, including Associate and Senior Associate-level professionals.
• Ensure daily activities, reporting deliverables, and projects are completed accurately and within agreed timelines.
• Monitor team performance, productivity, quality, and workload.
• Provide regular coaching, constructive feedback, and performance guidance.
• Conduct performance evaluations and support individual development plans.
• Train and onboard new team members on processes, procedures, systems, and reporting requirements.

Financial Reporting Operations

• Oversee day-to-day Financial Reporting activities and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Review and resolve complex accounting or reporting issues escalated by team members.
• Provide guidance on reporting processes, procedures, and system-related issues.
• Ensure reporting activities are completed in accordance with established standards, controls, and client requirements.
• Monitor deadlines and proactively address potential delivery risks.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
• Understand client requirements and ensure the team consistently delivers against expectations.
• Address client queries and operational concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate with other departments and teams to resolve issues and improve cross-functional processes.

Process Improvement

• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve Financial Reporting workflows, productivity, and quality.
• Implement efficient processes and controls to reduce errors and improve turnaround times.
• Partner with other teams to identify opportunities for cross-functional process improvements.

Performance & Quality

• Establish and maintain team schedules, assignments, and workload allocation.
• Ensure resources are appropriately distributed based on priorities and deadlines.
• Prepare regular reports covering team performance, productivity, quality, and operational metrics.
• Monitor data integrity and ensure compliance with information security and confidentiality requirements.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Financial Management, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• Candidates with a business-related degree should have at least 12 units of Accounting.
• 2-3 years of experience in Financial Reporting, accounting operations, or a related function.
• At least 1-2 years of supervisory, team lead, or people management experience.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting processes.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including:
• VLOOKUP
• IF
• AND / OR
• SUMIF
• Pivot Tables
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive and motivational leadership style with the ability to coach and develop team members.

It's a Bonus If You Have

• CPA certification or are currently pursuing CPA.
• Experience working with international or multinational clients.
• Experience in a shared services, BPO, or financial services environment.
• Experience with financial reporting systems or accounting platforms.
• Experience developing SOPs, improving workflows, or implementing process improvements.
