Rate: Php 386.90 per hour

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Tax/Technical Accountant will focus on multi-state compliance and must possess strong technical tax knowledge and exceptional attention to detail. This role is essential for managing filings, overseeing audits, and determining the taxability across various jurisdictions. Other responsibilities will include any other state/local taxes and research of technical accounting issues that may impact the company's financial results.

JOB ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve monthly/quarterly state, and local sales and use tax returns and tax payments
• Ensure accurate set up of Avalara, including state and local jurisdictions
• Prepare annual business tangible personal property tax returns, others as required
• Conduct tax research to stay updated on evolving tax laws and regulations
• Research technical accounting issues
• Review A/P & A/R invoices for applicable sales and use tax, validate and record customers exemption certificates
• Maintain a well-organized system for storing tax records, correspondence, and payment confirmations
• Reconcile G/L accounts to maintain accurate tax records
• Manage all Federal, State, local and property tax audits and respond to state notices and assessment inquiries
• Provide documentation for outside tax consultants for federal, state, and local income tax return preparations
• Work with outside tax consultants on R&D tax credit
• Assist in year end financial audit and preparation of financial report

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Requirements

• 3–5 years of tax experience
• Prior experience at public accounting firm required
• Experience with annual financial audit reports
• Strong proficiency in Excel
• Experience with Avalara, NetSuite, Connectwise
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with attention to detail
• Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes

Preferred Certifications:

• CPA Preferred
