The Tax and Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for managing the organization's tax planning, compliance, and reporting activities. This role ensures that the company adheres to all tax regulations and laws, minimizes tax liabilities, and manages risks associated with non-compliance. The manager needs to be knowledgeable on matters relating to PEZA, BOI, BIR, SEC and other government agencies as this role will be responsible on reporting and adherence to compliance to these regulators.
The manager will work closely with internal departments and external advisors to optimize tax strategies and ensure compliance with financial and all regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns with BIR, PEZA, BOI, SEC, LGU etc. (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Responsible for any regulatory audits (eg tax audits) and reporting
- Assist other departments on all regulatory and compliance matters
- Maintain compliance with local, national and international tax laws and regulations, where applicable
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors as needed.
- Identify and mitigate tax and compliance risks through effective controls and processes
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with tax laws and internal policies
- Develop and maintain documentation to support tax positions and compliance efforts
- Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial performance
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization
- Advise management on tax implications of business decisions and transactions
- Assist in other finance work related and adhoc tasks when necessary
- Responsible for reporting related to tax and compliance
Qualifications:
- Min 5 years of experience as Tax and Regulatory compliance or in a similar role
- Strong background on PEZA, BOR, BIR, SEC and other government agencies requirements and reporting
- Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
- Experience with BPO and shared services is preferred but not required
- CPA preferred but not required
