LH Paragon, Inc. (LHPI) is looking for a Tax Officer. Reporting to the Tax Director, the successful candidate will handle the Company's day-to-day tax operations, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation, filing, and compliance of all tax obligations for LHPI.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tax Compliance and Operations
- Execute day-to-day tax compliance activities for LHP.I
- Maintain accurate tax records, schedules, and supporting documents.
- Coordinate with internal departments to gather tax-related information and ensure accurate tax reporting.
- Liaise with the BIR, LGUs, and other government agencies, including attending tax filings, assessments, audits, and other fieldwork as required.
2. Financial Reporting
- Prepare tax provisions, reconciliations, and tax-related schedules.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities involving tax accounts.
- Ensure proper recording and reconciliation of tax-related transactions.
3. Audit & Regulatory Support
- Assist in BIR examinations, tax audits, and assessments.
- Prepare documentary requirements and supporting schedules for internal and external audits.
4. Process Improvement
- Monitor updates to tax laws, BIR issuances, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the implementation of tax compliance initiatives, process improvements, and internal controls.
- Identify and escalate tax risks or compliance issues to the Tax Director.
5. Reports & Other Duties
- Prepare tax reports, analyses, and other documentation required by Management.
- Perform other tax, accounting, finance, or compliance-related duties as assigned by the Tax Director or Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or a related field; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
- 1–2 years of relevant tax experience, including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding taxes, local taxes, and statutory tax compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws, BIR regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Experience in preparing tax returns, tax reconciliations, and supporting tax audits.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with a high level of integrity and attention to detail.
- Experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or a similar public accounting firm is highly preferred.
