Job Description

The Tax Director is responsible for overseeing all tax-related matters for Foundever Philippines, covering both direct and indirect taxes. This role ensures full compliance with local tax laws, regulatory reporting, and adherence to tax incentives, particularly with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA). The Tax Manager will collaborate closely with the Global Tax team, local Finance functions, and internal stakeholders to support tax planning, tax accounting, transfer pricing, and major tax initiatives.


The role also manages tax audits and controversies, supports US tax reporting requirements under ASC 740, and drives tax strategies aimed at optimizing the companys tax position. Depending on the candidates experience, the role may expand to include broader Asia-Pacific regional tax responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities


Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all direct and indirect tax returns in the Philippines.
  • Oversee compliance with tax reporting requirements set by government agencies (e.g., BIR, PEZA, LGUs).
  • Manage all tax incentives and ensure proper utilization and compliance with PEZA rules and regulations.
  • Maintain oversight of all PEZA reporting, documentation, and coordination.


Tax Planning & Strategy

  • Assist with planning, evaluating, and implementing tax strategies for Foundever Philippines.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize tax efficiency while ensuring adherence to regulations.
  • Provide expert tax guidance to internal stakeholders across Accounting, Treasury, Legal, and Commercial teams.


Tax Accounting & Global Coordination

  • Support the Global Tax Group in preparing and completing US tax reporting requirements under ASC 740 (US GAAP).
  • Oversee tax accounting processes and ensure accurate tax-related financial reporting.
  • Manage all transfer pricing requirements, including coordination with Global Tax on documentation and benchmarking.


Tax Audits & Controversies

  • Lead and manage tax audits, assessments, and inquiries from regulatory agencies.
  • Develop strategies for resolving tax disputes in coordination with external advisors and Global Tax.
  • Ensure proper documentation, audit readiness, and response management.


Projects & Initiatives

  • Lead major tax-related projects and initiatives aligned with both local and global objectives.
  • Support regional and global initiatives as needed, with potential expansion to Asia Pacific responsibilities.
  • Drive process improvements to strengthen tax compliance and operational efficiency.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10- 15 years of solid experience in Philippine taxation, including direct and indirect taxes.
  • At least 35 years in significant leadership experience handling tax compliance, tax planning, or tax audit.
  • Bachelors Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Taxation required.
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Strong background in PEZA compliance and managing tax incentives is required.
  • Experience working with multinational organizations or BPO/Shared Services is an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with tax audits, regulatory engagements, and resolving tax controversies.
  • Experience in transfer pricing documentation, coordination, and compliance is highly preferred.
  • Exposure to ASC 740, US GAAP tax reporting, or global tax reporting is a strong advantage
  • Deep and updated knowledge of Philippine tax laws, regulations, and incentives.
  • Strong proficiency in spreadsheet applications (Excel or Google Sheets).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Netsuite, or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong report writing, documentation, and tax analysis skills.
  • Expert knowledge of Philippine tax laws and regulations, including PEZA compliance.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Commercial).
  • Experience in handling multiple GEOs is a plus
