About the Role
As a Tax Consultant, you will be responsible for developing and implementing tax strategies, supporting tax accounting and filing/reporting activities, and identifying legal opportunities to optimize AIA's tax position.
You will also monitor tax legislation and regulatory developments and provide relevant tax advice to internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement tax strategies aligned with AIA Group tax policy and applicable regulations.
- Prepare and maintain tax records, returns, reports, and other tax-related materials.
- Recommend alternative tax treatments to help alleviate tax burden.
- Identify legal means to minimize tax liability based on applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Research and analyze existing and upcoming tax legislation to support tax planning and strategy.
- Engage with external tax consultants to stay updated on tax and regulatory developments.
- Provide tax advice to internal stakeholders.
- Support tax accounting, compliance, and reporting requirements.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- At least 7 years of tax experience with any of the following Big 4 audit firms:
- Navarro Amper & Co.
- Isla Lipana & Co.
- Sycip Gorres Velayo & Co.
- Manabat San Agustin & Co.
- OR, at least 7 years of experience in tax accounting, compliance, and reporting with any of the top 10 life insurance companies in the Philippines.
- Knowledge and experience in IFRS/PFRS and internal control practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Basic knowledge of SAP and Business Intelligence.
- Good command of English, both oral and written.
