Job Summary
The Tax Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely compliance with all BIR and other tax-related reportorial requirements of the company. The role requires strong knowledge in tax regulations, financial reporting, tax filling, and proper maintenance of accounting and tax records to ensure compliance and minimize exposure to penalties and assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns and reportorial requirements with the BIR.
- Prepare Financial Statements, Income Tax Returns (ITR), and other related schedules and attachments.
- Ensure accurate preparation and submission of all BIR reports, alphalists, and compliance documents.
- Handle filing and monitoring of eSales reports and related compliance requirements.
- Prepare and issue BIR Forms 2316, 2307, and other tax-related certificates/documents.
- Maintain proper and safe storage of tax records, ledgers, book of accounts, and supporting documents.
- Coordinate and communicate with retail stores regarding submission and regarding submission and reconciliation of sales reports, ledgers, and books.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure timely submission of all tax and statutory requirements to avoid penalties.
- Assist during BIR audit, tax mapping, LOA handling, and other tax assessments or examinations.
- Reconcile tax accounts and ensure accuracy of tax-related entries in the accounting records.
- Stay updated on new BIR regulations, tax rulings, and compliance requirements.
- Assist management in tax planning and implementation of proper tax compliance procedures.
- Perform other accounting, taxation, and compliance-related tasks as may be assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- At least 2-years experience in tax compliance, accounting, or audit.
- Strong knowledge of BIR regulations, tax compliances, and reportorial requirements.
- Experience in preparation of Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns.
- Knowledgeable in eFPS, eBIR Forms, and other BIR online systems.
- Experience in handling BIR filings, tax assessments, and tax mapping is an advantage.
- CPA is an advantage but not required.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
