Job Description

This role would ensure QBE's tax compliance and reporting obligations are met for all applicable taxes in different jurisdictions. This includes assisting with tax audits, providing ad-hoc tax advisory to the business, and focusing on high complexity and urgent tasks. Additionally, the role involves ensuring the Company remains compliant with reporting and compliance requirements from regulatory bodies such as PEZA, BOI, SEC and LGU.

Primary Responsibilities

Review tax computations and schedules in compliance with internal procedures and BIR regulations.

Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements from agencies such as PEZA, BOI, SEC and LGUs.

Communicate key risk issues to Finance and Tax leadership to highlight exposures requiring attention.

Handle tax audits, including preparation of documentation, legal basis and coordination with tax authorities and external tax advisors.

Oversee the preparation and submission of necessary documentation for PEZA and BOI applications/certifications to secure and maximize the Company's fiscal incentives.

Provide ad-hoc tax advisory support to business units on transactions and operational matters.

Handle high-complexity and urgent tax-related tasks requiring advanced technical expertise.

Collaborate with finance, compliance and legal teams to ensure tax and regulatory risks are identified and mitigated.

Spearhead tax planning initiatives to optimize tax positions and reduce exposure.

Support the development and implementation of tax compliance processes and controls.

Take ownership of personal learning and development, and share insights with colleagues to keep tax technical knowledge current.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

Advanced knowledge of local tax laws and regulations

Familiarity with PEZA and BOI regulations and operational compliance

Understanding of LGU requirements and procedures for securing business permits

Strong skills in spreadsheets, data analysis, and reconciliation procedures

Excellent communication skills

High attention to detail

Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel

Qualifications

Graduate of BS Accountancy, CPA license required

Some relevant years of experience with at least moderate years of experience in audit & tax firm
