We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Tax Accountant (US Tax) to join our Operations department. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records, focusing specifically on Cash, Accounts Receivable, and Tax areas within a fast-paced U.S.-based environment.
This is a billable position that requires a professional with a strong command of U.S. GAAP and the ability to mentor junior staff while ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the month-end close process.
Bonus Potential: Opportunity to earn up to $1,500 per quarter, based on performance and the successful completion of quarterly objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Oversight: Review the daily tasks of two staff members to ensure compliance with daily controls.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review complex journal entries and general ledger reconciliations with high-quality supporting documentation.
- Tax Administration: Address inquiries and notices related to U.S. federal, state, and local taxes, including sales and use tax matters.
- Analysis: Perform flux analysis and generate detailed variance commentary to explain period-over-period changes and business drivers.
- Audit Support: Assist in the completion of annual financial statement audits for consolidated results.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement automation and standardization opportunities to enhance internal controls and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 57 years of professional accounting experience.
- Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of U.S. Tax &U.S. GAAP and end-to-end accounting processes.
- Data Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills are mandatory (ability to manage 100,000+ rows using XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and Pivot Tables).
- Education:CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification is preferred.
- Background: Experience in Big 4 public accounting or a fast-paced U.S. business environment is highly advantageous.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills for reporting to U.S.-based leadership.
- System Knowledge: Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics GP, NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP is preferred.
