As a Tax Accountant, you are a critical technical lead in the North American tax landscape. This role is designed for a high-level tax professional who can navigate the complexities of federal and state compliance while operating in a high-security, remote-support environment. You will act as a strategic bridge for our U.S.-based clients, delivering technical analysis and precision that ensures financial integrity and regulatory compliance.
Your Impact
Architect of U.S. Compliance: Lead the preparation and review of complex U.S. federal and state income tax returns, including Form 1040 (Individuals), Form 1065 (Partnerships), Form 1120-S (S-Corps), and Form 1120 (Corporations).
Technical Analysis Lead: Perform deep-dive book-to-tax reconciliations (Schedule M-1/M-3) and manage sophisticated reporting for brokerage activity, Schedule K-1s, and rental real estate taxation.
Guardian of Asset Integrity: Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules, applying expert knowledge of tax depreciation methods such as MACRS, bonus depreciation, and Section 179.
Workflow & Planning Strategist: Utilize CCH Axcess Tax and SafeSend to drive project efficiency. You will collaborate closely with U.S. teams on high-level tax planning, income tax estimates, and projections to add proactive value to client engagements.
Security & Confidentiality Advocate: Maintain the highest standards of data security while handling sensitive financial information within secure environments, utilizing VPNs and secure document management systems.
What You Bring
The Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience using CCH Axcess Tax. You have a proven track record of preparing business returns and managing complex tax adjustments.
Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat, paired with a strong working knowledge of U.S. individual and business taxation. Familiarity with multi-state taxation and ASC 740 is highly preferred.
The Credentials: A CPA or CPA-track (U.S. or local equivalent) is preferred, alongside experience working directly with U.S.-based accounting or tax firms.
Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail and the critical thinking skills needed to solve complex tax problems independently. You possess strong professional English communication skills and a client-service mindset.
