Tax Accountant
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with 3–5 years of Australian public practice experience to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Australian taxation, financial reporting, and Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs). You will be responsible for preparing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, while managing the day-to-day administration of SMSFs using Class Super.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and SMSFs
- Manage the day-to-day administration and compliance of the firm's SMSF portfolio using Class Super.
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and GST returns.
- Prepare workpapers and supporting documentation for review and lodgement.
- Ensure all financial reports and tax returns comply with Australian accounting and taxation regulations.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
- Liaise with clients and internal team members to obtain information and resolve queries.
- Meet reporting deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist with other accounting and taxation matters as required.
- Perform other bookkeeping and compliance-related tasks as required
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of public practice in Australian accounting
- Experience with SMSFs (preferred).
- Financial planning experience (highly regarded).
- Proficiency with Class Super.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
