Tax Accountant (Intermediate)
Location: Philippines
Work Arrangement: Remote, Full-time
Shift: Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM PHT
Salary Range: Php 75,000 - Php 94,000

We are seeking an analytical, quality-focused Intermediate Tax Accountant to manage end-to-end tax compliance, general ledger maintenance, and financial statement preparation for an Australian client portfolio. You will work closely with onshore management to process files to Trial Balance, prepare trust and partnership tax returns, manage superannuation projections, and oversee ATO GST reconciliations.
Your Impact
- Tax Preparation & Compliance: Compile end-of-year compliance jobs, prepare income tax returns for individuals, trusts, and partnerships, update tax provision schedules, and submit accurate tax lodgments to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
- Trial Balance & General Ledger Management: Process accounts up to the Trial Balance stage, post general ledger and subsidiary journal entries, reconcile asset/liability accounts, run payroll processing, and set up auto-matching transaction rules.
- Management Accounts & Projections: Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports, generate income projections for investments and superannuation funds, and conduct GST reconciliations against ATO payments.
- Audit Support & Tax Authority Resolution: Research and analyze financial records for audit packages, report on grant funding administration, correct process errors that caused filing discrepancies, and assist in resolving tax payment queries with authorities.
What You Bring
- Education & Credentials: Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or Accounting Technology; CPA qualification is an advantage.
- The Experience:3+ years of experience in accounting, with strong specialization and hands-on expertise in Australian accounting standards and tax return preparation.
- Software Mastery: Proficiency in Australian cloud tax and accounting software ecosystems (e.g., Xero, Xero Tax, MYOB, or HandiSoft) alongside strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of Australian tax legislation, GST compliance, superannuation mechanics, trust/partnership distribution rules, and general ledger reconciliation workflows.
- Core Competencies: Outstanding written and verbal English communication, exceptional attention to detail, strong time management skills, and strict commitment to client data confidentiality.
