Job Description
I. Job Summary
The Tank Design Engineer is responsible for the full lifecycle design and development of tanks,
from initial engineering calculations and material specification to creating detailed 3D
models and production drawings. The role involves performing dimensional and structural
analysis, ensuring designs meet project and client quality standards, preparing all necessary
documentation for fabrication and material requisition, and provides technical support to
other team members as needed, contributing to overall project success.
II. Key Responsibilities
✓ Produce engineering drawings such as GA, fabrication, and detail drawings of the tank.
✓ Perform basic engineering calculations, plate thickness, structural member sizing, and
dimensional verification.
✓ Prepare material requisition and specification documents.
✓ Responsible for the quality of the deliverables and meeting client deadlines.
✓ Check the output with project and client standards.
✓ Create a 3D model and perform dimensional verification using Autodesk Inventor.
✓ Performs other related tasks as assigned to support the Civil and Structural Engineering
operations.
Job Qualifications / Requirements
✓ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or any related field.
✓ With at least 1-2 years of experience in design or detailing of full containment tanks, oil tanks,
pressure vessels and their accessories.
✓ Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
✓ Knowledge of 3D modelling software such as Autodesk Inventor and creation of automation
scripts is an advantage.
✓ Can understand other engineering drawings such as P&ID, piping isometric, and structural
drawings.
✓ Familiarity with industry codes and standards (ASME, API, EN, JIS).
✓ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing, as well as strong
interpersonal skills and relationship building.
✓ Ability to independently organise and prioritise work assignments and deliver high-quality
output, and the ability to deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
