About The Role
The Specialist Tactical Sourcing supports the execution and embedment of Category Strategies and tracks and measures their results.
The Specialist Tactical Sourcing is responsible for managing Sourcing activities developed by the Procurement team. These activities consider tasks such as spend and data analysis, stakeholder engagements, understanding and defining business requirements, conducting RFx, developing and maintaining supplier relationships, managing and monitoring supplier performance, creating and maintaining contracts in Ariba and Outline Agreements in SAP.
What You Will Be Doing
- Operationalises Category Strategies.
- Executes end to end Sourcing activities under the direction of the Sourcing Manager Sourcing including administration tasks regarding the creation and maintenance of Contracts and Outline Agreements in Ariba and SAP.
- Ensures all Sourcing activities allocated to them comply with regulation, Group Standards, Policies, Governance and Audit requirements.
- Conducts analysis of spend and other data to understand business requirements, trends, and opportunities to improve Sourcing Strategies effectiveness and efficiency.
- Analyse data and engage stakeholders (internal and external) to quantify and validate requirements, opportunities, and risks.Track progress against Category Plans and Sourcing targets.
- Improving overall Regional competitiveness by reducing Total Cost of Ownership while at the same time ensuring security of supply and reliability.
- Support the Sourcing team to develop executive papers and business cases for strategic initiatives.
- Prepare material for Sourcing Strategies and Plans.
- Foster an environment of working together with Orica key stakeholders functions to deliver the best overall outcome for the business.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation solutions with key suppliers.
- Maintains all relevant data related to Sourcing activities including SAP data, Ariba data, price files and Outline Agreements.
- Assists vendors and stakeholders with invoicing / payment issues including the coordination of stakeholders to solve such payment issues to ensure Orica is not on Stop Credit.
What You Will Bring
- Manufacturing, Mining, Oil & Gas, Industrial, and other relevant B2B Marketing industries.
- Minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
- Tactical Sourcing experience.
- Feels comfortable working with a degree of autonomy in remote team structures.
- Relationship and stakeholder management experience.
- Strategy development and implementation experience.
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong relationship skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with a customer service focus.
- Experience in an administration, Procurement or Accounts Payable roles highly desirable.
- Basic experience in SAP or similar ERP system including material master, purchasing, and/or the creation of outline agreements.
- Relevant working experience using Excel as an analytical tool. Experience with Ariba, MRP and MS suite of products highly desirable.
- Understanding and use of SAP transactions and reporting within a Purchasing/Procurement environment.
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills.
- Relevant Degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or similar is preferred
- Exposure to Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system is an advantage
- Knowledge of ARIBA for Source to Contract is nice to have
