System Engineer

We're on the lookout for a Data Center System Engineer to join one of our dynamic client teams. Our client is a leading provider of IT solutions and services headquartered in Switzerland. With a strong reputation for delivering robust, secure, and scalable IT solutions, the client is expanding its global team to meet growing business demands.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the operation, and optimization of enterprise-grade datacenter infrastructures (compute, virtualization, storage, backup)
• Plan and implement complex changes across customer environments
• Triage and classification of cyber security incidents based on severity, including initiation of appropriate response measures.
• Close collaboration with our Blue Team as part of Tier 1 SOC operations for our MDR (Managed Detection & Response) customers.
• Respond to high-level escalations, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve critical platform issues with a calm and analytical approach.
• Collaborate with international teams and contribute to process improvements

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with NetApp storage, Cisco compute, VMware virtualization and Veeam backup
• NCDA or VCP-VVF certification (or equivalent expertise) is strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of ITIL processes and enterprise service delivery (e.g. ServiceNow)
• Strong sense of ownership, service orientation, and technical leadership
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
• German language skills are a strong plus but not required (Many Swiss based customers)
• A collaborative mindset, comfortable working with global teams
• Impeccable record of conduct and professional integrity including a clear criminal record background check and credit check
• Flexibility to work fixed day shift from Sunday to Thursday
