Role Overview
We are looking for a System Administrator responsible for managing and maintaining the organizations IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and optimal performance. The role involves configuring servers, monitoring systems, troubleshooting issues, and supporting day-to-day operations to ensure business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability of infrastructure.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and patch management.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
- Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and access policies.
- Manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Support infrastructure components such as servers, storage, and networking systems.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to support business and technical requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Typically requires 25 years of experience in system administration or infrastructure support roles.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server environments.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Familiarity with system monitoring and performance tools.
- Knowledge of security best practices and system hardening.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Good To Have Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified, or Linux certifications are a plus.
- (Hands-on) Demonstrate experience in setting-up/configuring/troubleshooting of Kubernetes and Docker containers using infrastructure as code (Terraform and Ansible)
- Configuring and maintaining build pipelines using Argo CD (or Jenkins, Bamboo)
- Bash scripting and automation
