Job Summary
A System Admin I (Azure Ops Support) is responsible in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing cloud environments. He/She will be responsible for deploying, configuring, optimizing, and monitoring cloud resources to ensure high performance, stability, and security
Responsibilities and Duties
A System Admin I (Azure Ops Support) is expected to:
Regular activities:
- Validation of proper backup execution
- Check the backup state in Azure for VMs and other components and make sure all VMs are backed-up or have an approved exception
- Regular individual VM restore tests
- Randomly select VMs and restore them into an isolated environment for validation of consistency and restore procedure accuracy
- Configure and supervise the monitoring of Azure components
- done by using Azure Monitor and Alerts
- Manage the Automox portal
- Ensure all VMs are being regularly patched including reboots and onboarding of the agent as well as removal of old devices not needed anymore
- Creation of Policies for Azure Resource Logging
- Developing and implementing policies to ensure proper logging of Azure resources for better tracking and compliance
- Handling Tasks from Azure Advisor:
- Backup Optimization: Reviewing and optimizing backup configurations for cost efficiency and performance
- Unattached Disks Removal: Identifying and removing unattached disks to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs
AdHoc activities:
- Migration from OMS to AMA (Azure Monitor Agent)
- Overseeing and executing the transition from OMS to AMA for Azure Virtual Machines, ensuring minimal disruption and improved functionality
- Change Tracking Migration
- Migrating change tracking data from one Log Analytics workspace to another while maintaining data integrity and continuity
- Automox Zone Migration and Management
- Manage the migration of Automox zones and integrate IoT devices into the new zone, ensuring seamless operation and correct configuration
Perform relevant additional tasks that is assigned by the Leadership Team.
Qualification Requirements
- Candidate must have a minimum of 1 year experience as a System Admin or similar role in a cloud system environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Candidate must have strong English communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Experience with incident management and change management processes.
- Strong understanding and proficiency in managing and troubleshooting cloud systems.
- Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
- Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals.
- Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator.
- Proven ability to work well in a team.
- Exhibits an understanding of excellent quality of work.
- A self-motivated individual contributor.
- Willing to work different shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
