The System Administrator M365 is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of Active Directory, Azure AD, M365 apps and supporting mission-critical applications. This involves resolving day-to-day incidents, fulfilling requests, completing changes in the enterprise environment liaising with end users, and taking proactive measures to maximize application performance and availability. The position requires a responsible, self-motivated, well-organized individual with the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects while adapting quickly to rapidly changing priorities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Promoting and demoting domain controllers
- Resolving DCPROMO and installation issues
- Creating and using IFM
- Transferring FSMO roles
- Resolving domain controller boot failure issues
- Configuring and troubleshooting LDAP and replication issues
- Linking and managing GPO's
- Securing AD and monitoring AD changes using Windows Audit and Splunk
- Exporting, installing, and managing root certification authority certificates
- Recognizing and addressing vulnerabilities
- Resolving errors in event logs
- Implementing and troubleshooting group Managed Service Accounts
- Registering and configuring Service Principal Names for Kerberos connections
- Configuring and troubleshooting the Windows Time Service
- Configuring a firewall for AD domains and trusts
- Configuring backup, restore, and disaster recovery for Active Directory
- Utilizing the AD Migration Tool
- UNIX-enabling
- Managing objects attributes using the ADSI Edit tool
- Creating and managing objects and permissions within AD domains in a forest
- Managing AD FS, WAP, and ADFS SQL servers
- Installing and upgrading AD Federation Services
- Troubleshooting AD FS issues
- Troubleshooting object synchronization errors in AADC
- Granting tenant-wide admin consent in Enterprise apps
- Activating roles in Azure AD Privileged Identity Management
- Creating and managing security groups in Azure AD
- Configuring multi-factor authentication for access
- Configuring, managing, and troubleshooting print devices and accounts
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Provide support for release deployments in a 24x7 operations environment as required
- Produce technical and operational documentation
Qualifications:
- 5+ years relevant experience with demonstrated ability or working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and File Services.
- Must be able to communicate technical concepts clearly to a wide audience
- Proficient at working with Windows 2008 R2, 2012, 2016, and 2019 servers
- Experience with Zoom, Power Platform, Bomgar, Lync, Smarsheet, and Microsoft 365 Applications
- Experience with PCI and BitLocker Encryption (preferred)
- Demonstrate a customer focused attitude
- 1+ Service Now or equivalent ticketing system experience
- Must be able to communicate technical concepts clearly to a wide audience
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 products including Exchange, Forms, Bookings, Project, Stream, Sway, OneNote, To Do, Visio, Viva, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agents.
- Enterprise Application Integration, SharePoint Online, Azure AD, AADC, ADFS and other Microsoft 365 related workload.
- Demonstrated ability or working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and PowerShell or various scripting languages to automate and implement solutions at an advanced level.
- Experience creating documentation of technical procedures, runbooks, monitoring and data migration plans.
- Microsoft Certified Professional or equivalent certifications (preferred)
- ITIL experience (preferred)
- Ability to work in a 24x7 on-call after hour rotation environment
- Good understanding of change management
