Job Summary
The Sustainability Reporting Specialist supports the Sustainability Reporting Lead in developing and delivering the Bank's annual sustainability report and other non-financial disclosures. This role works closely with business unit heads, subsidiary leadership teams, and designated sustainability representatives to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality reporting.
The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with global and regional sustainability reporting standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sustainability Report Development
- Support the preparation of the Bank's Annual Sustainability Report
- Collaborate with business units, support groups, and subsidiaries in drafting narratives, case studies, and impact stories
- Partner with the Sustainability Impact Analytics team to ensure alignment and seamless integration of qualitative narratives and quantitative data
- Ensure all disclosures comply with relevant global standards, frameworks, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD where applicable)
- Manage timelines, approvals, and stakeholder expectations to ensure timely publication of both digital and print reports
2. Impact Reporting for Bond Issuances
- Work with the Institutional Banking Group to develop impact reports related to sustainability or thematic bond issuances
- Consolidate and articulate use of proceeds data and beneficiary impact narratives
- Ensure timely submission and disclosure of impact reports to stakeholders
- Collaborate with Marketing Communications to effectively communicate key messages through the Bank's channels
3. Content Development & Thought Leadership
- Prepare executive briefing materials, special reports, and thought leadership content
- Research and write on sustainability trends, emerging technologies, policies, and best practices
- Develop content that strengthens the Bank's positioning as a sustainability leader
4. Stakeholder Communication & Engagement
- Support internal and external communications related to sustainability initiatives
- Oversee the creation of presentation materials for speaking engagements of senior executives, including the Chief Compliance Officer and the Head of Sustainability
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Sustainability, Business, or related fields
- At least 5 years experience in writing feature stories with strong human-interest focus
- Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Strong interviewing skills, with the ability to engage individuals at all levels
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Must be willing to work onsite and be assigned in Makati or Ortigas
