Job Description

• Use specialized equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS, and laser scanners) to measure land features and boundaries.
• Collect data related to topography, terrain, and property lines.
• Interpret survey data and translate measurements into detailed plans and maps.
• Use software (e.g., CAD, GIS) to create and modify drawings and models.
• Generate survey reports, including findings, recommendations, and compliance with legal requirements.
• Document survey methods, equipment used, and any issues encountered.
• Work with engineers, architects, and construction teams to provide necessary survey data.
• Consult with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and address concerns.
• Verify that surveys meet local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of measurements and data.
• Calibrate and maintain survey instruments and tools.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
• Conduct on-site inspections to gather data and verify conditions.
• Assess environmental and physical factors that may impact surveys.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Licensed Civil or Geodetic Engineer
• Preferably with 3 years of work experience in surveying, particularly in infrastructure, rail, building, and civil construction projects.
