Job Title: Engineer Technician / Surveyor Technician

Department: Engineering Support / Client Projects

Reporting To: Project Engineer / Head of Operations

Responsible For: Migrating surveyor and engineering plans to digital platforms, performing data quality checks, and supporting construction planning workflows

Location: Work From Home

Employment Type: Part-Time (20 hours per week; potential for full-time)

Schedule: Output-based, flexible hours

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Job Purpose

As an Engineer Technician / Surveyor Technician at Top Source Executive Search, you will support our construction client in digitizing and managing engineering and surveyor plans using the HCSS Plans software. This role combines technical precision with attention to detail, ensuring that construction plans and annotations are accurately transferred, verified, and quality-checked. You will collaborate closely with engineers and project teams, applying your technical aptitude, analytical skills, and communication strengths to support the client's planning operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in transferring and migrating construction and surveyor plans to the HCSS Plans software platform.
  • Identify and interpret engineering notes, plan annotations, and technical references within survey documents.
  • Perform quality control checks to verify data accuracy, plan consistency, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Communicate clearly with engineering teams to confirm details and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized records of project plans, revisions, and migration progress.
  • Participate in training sessions to master the use of construction planning software and client workflows.
  • Support the project engineer and operations team with technical and administrative documentation as needed.
  • Ensure all outputs meet established standards for quality, precision, and timeliness.

Qualifications

  • Background in Engineering, Surveying, Architecture, or a related technical field (undergraduate or associate level acceptable).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering or surveyor plans with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent English communication and comprehension skills (written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and eagerness to learn new software (training provided).
  • Highly organized, reliable, and capable of working independently in a results-oriented environment.
  • Previous exposure to construction, civil engineering, or technical documentation is an advantage.

Work Setup

  • Remote work environment (Work From Home).
  • 20 hours per week with potential full-time transition.
  • Output-based performance with flexible scheduling.
  • Training and equipment provided by TSES and the client.
  • Reporting directly to the client's project engineer and TSES operations management.
