Job Description

What you'll do:

Technical

  • Process total station, GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and levelling data.
  • Network adjustment and error detection in TBC (Trimble Business Centre).
  • Create terrain models in Autodesk Civil3D and develop survey drawings.
  • Surface creation/checking/editing in Civil3D.
  • Support the New Zealand Survey Team in delivering projects.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision on processing topographical and geodetic survey data.
  • Provide technical support to the Team.

Self and Team Development

  • Proactively communicates on projects to ensure accurate understanding of requirements.
  • Share expertise and knowledge of survey data processing.
  • Actively share technical knowledge on collaboration opportunities such as PANS to develop help grow the wider WSP team.
  • Keep up to date with developments in your professional area.
  • Regularly reflect on the contribution you make to your team culture to embrace diversity, strive for excellence, and demonstrate our Guiding Principles.
  • Achieve and/or maintain professional registrations/licences relevant to your role.

Other

  • To provide high quality consultancy services to WSP's clients and meet the applicable utilisation targets as determined by WSP to support and drive the ongoing success and growth of the organisation.
  • Comply with all role specific Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) obligations as detailed in the employment agreement and WSP policies, procedures and matrices (which may be introduced or updated from time to time).
  • Take responsibility for your self-development including developing goals through regular and relevant Thrive conversations, completing specified eLearning tasks, keeping up-to-date with relevant developments in your practice area and updating the Capabilities Database for sharing capabilities and qualifications within the business.
  • Perform other duties which are reasonably incidental to this position, as directed by the Company from time to time

What we will love about you:

  • Degree or diploma in Geomatics/Surveying
  • Preferably 10+ years in hands-on experience in field survey and processing of topographical and geodetic survey data, combining multiple data sources, such as total station, GNSS and levelling.
  • Essential - Proficient in Trimble Business Center (TBC), Civil3D and Excel.
  • Valued – Experience in Global Mapper, QGIS.
  • Valued – Experience in laser scanning and/or drone survey.
  • Able to work effectively and competently with people at all levels; within and external to the organisation; strong organisational ability to optimise and prioritise conflicting demands in a busy environment, to achieve deadlines and see responsibilities through to completion.
  • Ability to adopt a client-centric approach – placing our clients (internal and external) at the centre of everything we do.
