Job Description

SGV Supply Chain and Operations (SC&O) Senior Associates will be part of business consulting professionals focusing on leading project engagements under the SC&O practice. They will lead high-performing teams that will help clients reinvent and transform their supply chain functions and outcomes across the business. SC&O Senior Associates are expected to lead and guide Associates in the conduct of detailed project engagement activities, provide support to his/her Manager, Senior Manager and Partner, and collaborate with different client stakeholders across various functions and industries.

The project engagement types will depend on the client's business needs which may be classified into segments of providing assessment, implementation or transformation or managed services.

SC&O project engagement may fall under, but not limited to, the following transformative solutions covering wide range of supply chain capabilities:

  • Planning and Product Lifecycle Management (e.g., Sales and Operations Planning)
  • Procurement (e.g., Spend Analytics, Procurement Process and Operating Model)
  • Manufacturing (e.g., Integrated Work Systems, Manufacturing Excellence)
  • Logistics and Fulfilment (e.g., Logistics Optimization - Inventory Management, Delivery Planning and Execution)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall

  • Responsible for contributing to the delivery of one or more processes, solutions and/or projects by delivering agreed activities, applying judgement and selecting appropriate methodologies to inform recommendations, considering success criteria, barriers, risks and issues
  • Accountable for meeting own work and required targets which impact the immediate team
  • Meet performance objectives and metrics set locally (client service, quality and risk management, solution development and teaming etc.)
  • Ensure team's tasks are completed with quality and on time
  • Develop strong relationships with team members and monitor and align with Manager/Senior Manager on the status and escalate issues/concerns that will put the project at risk
  • Communicate effectively with clients; develop and deliver presentations/reports based on data and research findings using charts, graphs and other visual aids

Current State Assessment - understand the organization's existing supply chain practices, processes, and systems to develop insight that can transform the organization's supply chain functions

  • Lead the research and collection of relevant information and knowledge in the supply chain emerging trends, leading practices, new technology and strategies
  • Lead execution of tasks and activities for interviews, workshops, and meetings with the client
  • Lead interviews with clients to understand business processes and procedures
  • Review/create process maps (using MS Visio) based on the interviews and process walkthrough
  • Lead activities related to process maturity assessment
  • Lead in identification of issues and findings on the clients Supply Chain processes through quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Lead root cause analysis on the identified issues and findings
  • Lead on the development of value-adding solutions and recommendations
  • Lead the preparation of management reports
  • Review and present findings, issues, and recommendations
  • Lead project review meetings to evaluate progress and identify project risks

Design and Implementation - provide support in the design and implementation of supply chain transformation initiatives using the project methodology across all phases of the system implementation lifecycle and establish frameworks for the management and measurement of supply chain client initiatives

  • Work closely with the client to understand business objectives, requirements, and constraints
  • Analyze existing systems and processes to design the most suitable solution, requirements and processes
  • Develop solution design and implement solutions that meet clients needs
  • Align solution requirements and specifications with the clients
  • Plan and estimate effort and resources needed for the testing
  • Lead the creation of test scenarios, test cases and test scripts
  • Monitor execution of test environment set up
  • Lead and monitor User Acceptance Testing (UAT), report issues, and participate in managing test defects
  • Lead and conduct the end-user training on the new process and system
  • Lead and provide support to project kick-off, go-live and post go-live activities

Stakeholder Management

  • Understand the needs, expectations, and concerns of different stakeholders like clients, vendors, team members and other stakeholders
  • Develop communication strategy and protocols that will focus on the needs and concerns of the stakeholders
  • Communicate potential risks that may have an impact on the project or engagement and align it to the Manager/Senior Manager; identify appropriate measures to mitigate the risks
  • Build trust and positive relationships with the stakeholders by working collaboratively with them and by understanding their needs and challenges
  • Handle diplomatically and effectively the stakeholders if conflicts arise to avoid any negative impact on the project or engagement

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Flexible and is willing to work in client sites within or outside of Metro Manila; report to SGV office as aligned with policies for project collaboration; open for assignment in other EY offices; willing to adjust work schedules based on client work shifts and time zones
  • Attend and participate in internal face-to-face training and official employee engagement activities
  • Develop positive relationships with peers, senior associates, managers and mentors/counselors within SGV and globally within the firm
  • Complete the required and assigned learnings (e.g., web-based, classroom, external)
  • Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures
  • Contribute and promote EY's brand and work to its values

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering or any Business Management, Operations/Supply Chain Management course

Relevant Experience

  • More than 3 years in a Supply Chain related lead role (e.g., planning, procurement, operations, logistics) and/or process improvement/continuous improvement roles (e.g., team lead, supervisory role, project lead across multiple departments)
  • Project management/change management experience

Certificates, Licenses,Registration

  • Certification in engineering degrees (i.e., Certified Industrial Engineer) and/or continuous improvement (i.e., Lean Six Sigma) are a plus
