Key Responsibilities:

  • Asset Management & Tracking
  • Maintain accurate records of all IT assets (hardware, software, peripherals, and licenses) in the asset management system.
  • Monitor and reconcile asset inventories to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and enforce asset management policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Procurement & Lifecycle Management
  • Coordinate with procurement and vendors for the purchase, renewal, or retirement of IT assets.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets from requisition to disposal ensuring optimal utilization and compliance.
  • Oversee asset tagging, labeling, and proper storage of IT equipment.
  • Team Leadership
  • Supervise and train IT asset coordinators or technicians in asset handling, documentation, and reporting.
  • Allocate workload, monitor performance, and support professional development within the team.
  • Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure software licensing compliance and manage renewals in coordination with vendors and legal teams.
  • Generate periodic reports on asset utilization, inventory accuracy, and lifecycle costs.
  • Support internal and external audits related to IT assets.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to optimize asset usage and reduce costs.
  • Recommend tools and technologies to improve asset visibility and control.
  • Stay current with IT asset management best practices, frameworks (e.g., ITIL, ISO 19770), and technology trends.

Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:35 years of experience in IT asset management, inventory control, or IT operations.
  • 12 years in a supervisory or team lead role preferred.
  • Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of IT asset management systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Lansweeper, SCCM).
  • Understanding of software licensing models and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database/reporting tools.
  • Certifications (Preferred):ITIL Foundation
  • Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) or equivalent
  • Software Asset Management (SAM) certification

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with occasional warehouse or data center visits.
  • May require lifting and moving IT equipment.
  • Occasional travel between company sites.
