The Frozen, Dairy & Chill Supervisor oversees daily operations of cold-chain categories, ensuring product freshness, proper storage, accurate merchandising, and excellent customer service. They play a key role in maintaining food safety standards and driving sales in these high-demand sections.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment of frozen, dairy, and chilled products.
- Ensure FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and manage shrinkage/loss prevention.
Merchandising & Display
- Supervise product placement, signage, and promotional displays in cold-chain sections.
- Ensure shelves and chillers are well-stocked, organized, and aligned with planograms.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Enforce strict adherence to cold-chain handling and storage standards.
- Monitor temperature logs of freezers and chillers to ensure compliance.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in storage and display areas.
Sales & Performance
- Track category sales performance and implement strategies to meet targets.
- Support promotional campaigns and seasonal sales events.
Team Supervision
- Train and supervise staff assigned to frozen, dairy, and chilled sections.
- Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and evaluate performance.
Customer Service
- Ensure staff provide excellent service, assisting customers with product inquiries.
- Handle escalated customer concerns related to cold-chain products.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Business, or Retail Management (preferred).
- Experience: 35 years in retail operations, preferably in food categories with cold-chain handling.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of food safety standards, inventory systems, and merchandising.
- Soft Skills: Leadership, communication, problem-solving, and customer service orientation.
