The Cashier & Checkout Supervisor manages the daily activities of cashiers, monitors transaction accuracy, and ensures compliance with company policies. They act as the frontline leader at the point of sale, balancing customer satisfaction with operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Cashier Team Management
- Supervise and schedule cashier staff to ensure adequate coverage.
- Train new cashiers on POS systems, customer service, and company policies.
- Monitor performance and provide coaching when necessary.
Transaction Oversight
- Ensure cash, credit, and digital transactions are processed accurately.
- Verify cash drawers and reconcile discrepancies at the end of shifts.
- Maintain records of daily sales and deposits.
Customer Service
- Resolve customer complaints related to checkout, billing, or payment issues.
- Ensure fast, efficient, and friendly service at checkout counters.
Compliance & Procedures
- Enforce company policies on returns, refunds, and discounts.
- Ensure adherence to loss prevention and fraud detection measures.
Operational Support
- Coordinate with store management for promotions and pricing updates.
- Oversee the cleanliness and organization of checkout areas.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field (preferred).
- Experience: 24 years in cashiering or retail operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic accounting.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and customer service orientation.
