Structural Steel Draftsperson - Advance Steel (AutoCAD)

Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled Structural Steel Draftsperson to utilize their specialized proficiency in Advance Steel (AutoCAD) to transform complex engineering specifications into fabrication-ready shop drawings. Operating as a direct extension of their in-house team, you will ensure high-quality, precise outputs that comply with Australian building codes and directly support ongoing construction projects.

Schedule:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM AEST)

Responsibilities

• Create detailed shop drawings for structural steel fabrication projects
• Develop accurate site plans to support on-site construction teams
• Interpret blueprints and engineering specifications to produce fabrication-ready drawings
• Ensure all drawings comply with Australian building codes and structural standards
• Collaborate with the fabrication team to align drawings with company-specific processes and methods
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across all project documentation

Requirements

• Proficiency in Advance Steel (AutoCAD) for structural steel drafting
• Solid understanding of structural steel materials, connections, and fabrication processes
• Familiarity with Australian building codes and regulations
• Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions
